Mr. P. Sathish Pai & Dr. P. Dayananda Pai

                    Dr. P. Dayananda Pai born in a middle class family at Mangalore and did his B.Sc. from Government College, Mangalore. Later did his B.E in Mechanical Engineering from Sri. Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore and B.L. from Sharada Villas Law College, Mysore.

Dr. Pai, along with his brother Mr. P. Satish Pai, is mainly engaged in large scale Real Estate Business in the State of Karnataka and holding a large Land Bank. Dr. Pai is a Director in several Private and Public Limited Companies engaged in Real Estate, Construction, Hotels, Schools, Hospitals, Insurance, Leasing & Finance and tech Parks.

Dr. Pai is a past President of Rotary Club of R.T. Nagar, Bangalore and is a Paul Harris Fellow and also a major Donor in Rotary International. Also a past President of 165 years old and the most prestigious Bangalore Club.

At present Dr. Pai is a Vice President of Karnataka State Table Tennis Association, Patron of Karnataka State Ladies Hockey Association, Trustee in Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Trustee in Belimutt Engineering College and Vidyashilp Academy, Trustee in Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan. President-Bangalore Shri Kashimutt, President of GSS Credit Co-operative Society.

Dr. Pai is presently a Syndicate Member of Mangalore University and also a Board Member of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Manipal University), Manipal. President of Konkani Bhas & Pratishtan and President of Vishwa Konkani Bhavan, Mangalore. Dr. Pai is Governing Body Member of Besant Management College, Mangalore. Dr. Pai has co-founded Vidyasagar and Vidyashilp Schools in Bangalore, now considered as one of the best Schools in Bangalore City having strength of more that 3500 students. Dr. Pai is a Trustee in a very renowned BMS Educational Trust which is running several Educational Institutions, including the prestigious BMS Engineering College and BMS Institute of Technology at Yelahanka.

Dr. Pai has widely traveled to more than 50 Countries covering all the 7 continents of the world and gained rich experience.

Dr. Pai owns a Farm House adjudged as the prettiest Garden in large house category in Bangalore. Government of Karnataka through Urban Arts Commission had declared this Farm house as 􀈃Pride of Bangalore along with Raj Bhavan, Cubbon Park & Lalbagh. Also this Farm House won consecutive annual awards for best maintained Garden in large house category in the annual garden competitions conducted by Urban Art Commission, Government of Karnataka.

Dr. Pai is engaged in innumerable Philanthropic activities by donating several
crores of rupees for the construction of Temples, Schools, Colleges, Kalyana Mantapas,  Hospitals, Old Age Homes and Destitute homes.  Dr. Pai has been providing daily mid day meals to more than 500 students studying in various schools of Mangalore and through Iskcon, Mangalore. Dr. Pai provides annual scholarships to more than 1000 poor children studying in schools and colleges from several years.

Dr. Pai has been honoured by several social, cultural and religious organizations and several heads of religious Mutts in Karnataka, Kerala & Mumbai for his philanthropic activities. For the outstanding contribution, Dr. Pai has been awarded Karnataka Udyog Award in the year 1991. In the year 2005, Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy, Government of Karnataka conferred “Mahan Manis” on Dr. Pai for his contribution and services to the Konkani community. The Syndicate Bank, Academy of General Education and Rotary Club of Manipal jointly conferred their Annual Award on Dr. Pai for the year 2007 as Outstanding Achiever of the South Kanara District.  In the cBook published by Mangalore University Dr. Pai has been nominated as one among 100 great achievers of Konkani speaking Hindus, Muslims & Christian personalities of the last century. Dr. Pai has been conferred with Vidyadhiraj Puraskar 2008, being the highest award given annually to an outstanding person of GSB community in India. The entire GSB community of Bangalore conferred Konkani Shirorathna award in the year 2009. Sri Krishna Temple of Udupi conferred Puttige Paryaya Prashasthi 2008 to Dr. Pai.

For the Entrepreneurship and Philanthropic activities, Mangalore University conferred honorary Doctorate Degree to Dr. Pai in the year 2009.

The Canara Institutions Alumni Association is proud to have the Pai brothers – Dr. P. Dayananda Pai and Sri. P. Satish Pai as members of the Alumni Association.  The announcement their magnanimous donation of Rs. 1 Crore to the Canara School (C.B.S.E.) through “P.Dayananda Pai & P. Satish Pai Charitable Trust” is a testimony to the love and concern the Pai brothers have for their alma mater.  We look forward to their sustained interest and support for their alma mater.
